On July 24002 Archives Polish video game developer Techland announced that Tencent was “in the process of becoming Techland’s majority shareholder.” Paweł Marchewka, the company’s president, stated in the announcement, “We will retain full ownership of our IPs, maintain creative freedom, and continue to operate in a way we believe is right. I will also continue to serve as the studio’s CEO.” Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Wrocław, Poland, Techland is renowned for its video game products, such as the survival horror games “Dead Island” and “Dying Light”.
